TriPro webGet the first look at plans to build 231 luxury apartments at the old Chart House site and hear important information about the city’s Accessory Dwelling Unit ordinance at the Midtown Ventura Community Council meeting Thursday, February 9.

The meeting starts at 7 pm in Cooper Hall at Grace Church, 65 MacMillan Ave.

The Ventura Triangle is proposed for the Triangle site off San Jon Road in downtown Ventura. JDA’s design team created residential apartments and a public promenade on the bluff-top property. The vacant Chart House restaurant was demolished last week.

The developer will create overlook areas and provide public parking as well completing the pedestrian and bicycle connection from the overpass at Ash Street to San Jon Road, connecting downtown to the beach. Residents can provide input on the project before the developer submits a formal proposal for review to city planners.

Dave Ward, Ventura’s community development planning manager, will talk about state law changes to granny units, second units and carriage units. The presentation will include information about the local Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance that will be considered this spring. Ward will also talk about setbacks, parking, building heights and city fees for second units.

The Ventura Police Department will also give an update on crime problems within Midtown Ventura.
