Addressing the vaping epidemic among teens and learn more about the Clean Power Alliance at the Midtown Ventura Community Council meeting on Thursday, March 14.

The MVCC will also be honoring former Ventura Community Development Director Jeff Lambert for his service. The Midtown resident is now the Director of Development Services for the City of Oxnard.

The Community Council will hold its board elections and get an update from the Ventura Police Department about crime activity in the Midtown area.

Helen Tosh, community services coordinator with Ventura County Public Health, will discuss the increase in vaping and what Ventura can do about this health issue.

Brandon Kayson, Environmental Sustainability Specialist with the City of Ventura, will be talking about the Clean Power Alliance and how it might affect your monthly energy bill. Ventura has joined the Clean Power Alliance to proactively address climate change.

As for the election, the MVCC has proposed a slate of candidates. Only MVCC members are eligible to vote. To be a MVCC member, you must live, own a business or own property in Midtown Ventura, and you must have attended at least one meeting in the last year in order to vote.
