The Midtown Ventura Community Council (MVCC) will hold its monthly meeting in person on Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m. at Cooper Hall at Grace Church, 65 MacMillan Avenue, Ventura.

First on the agenda will be Ventura Police Department Commander Edward (Ted) Caliento who will provide an update on recent Midtown service calls and crime prevention methods for citizens to implement.

david maronDavid Maron of the Ventura County Civic Alliance will present on the 2023 State of the Region Report.  The State of the Region Report provides a unique perspective on Ventura County through independently researched and interpreted data that accurately reflects the quality of life in Ventura County.  The Ventura County Civic Alliance was founded in 2001 as an initiative of the Ventura County Community Foundation, and is a coalition of civic leaders with a shared commitment to the three E’s — the Economic, Environmental and social Equity interests of our region. This balance ensures that its research and community dialogue is embedded with a broad and diverse set of perspectives and priorities.

Gina Dorrington, Ventura Water general manager, will provide an update on Ventura Water Pure.

There will be an election of the officers and Board of Directors. Members of the MVCC who have attended at least one General Meeting in the prior 12 months are eligible to vote. Members need to live, own a business or property within the MVCC boundaries. The new Board will take office April 1, 2024.

MVCC Committee Chairs will provide updates on their work.
